Jamaica's biggest water park, located in Negril on over five acres of land, has 10 water slides—some up to 35-feet high—as well as a children's play area, lazy river, three restaurants, a juice bar, and a sports bar.
Unlike some others, which are open only to resort guests, the independent Kool Runnings can be enjoyed by anyone paying the admission fee. You can buy a combination ticket that includes the affiliated Adventure Zone (paintball, laser tag, go-karts). Kids who know how to swim can even go kayaking through the natural canals of the park.
Jamaica is known for its two-person bamboo rafting on the Rio Grande and Martha Brae rivers, but at Kool Runnings they offer a rafting experience too. Up to eight adults can enjoy a laid-back rafting trip on a canal through Negril’s famous Great Morass, a freshwater wetland.
Note that while you cannot bring in your own picnic lunch to Kool Runnings, the concessions offer a variety of food options.
