St. Catherine

,

Description

St. Catherine was one of the first seven parishes created in 1664 and this makes it one of the seven oldest parishes in Jamaica. The capital of St. Catherine is Spanish Town, originally known as San Jago de la Vega or Santiago de la Vega. This was Jamaica's first capital.

Outside of its beaches, St. Catherine doesn't have many attractions, but because of its thriving business district, it's one of the most popular places in Jamaica to visit. These are a few St. Catherine tourist destinations.
